Seattle University head baseball coach Donny Harrel has announced that he and his staff will be hosting Seattle University's first Baseball Prospect Camp. The camp will allow for athletes ages 18-22 an opportunity to learn and develop their talents in a camp setting.

Seattle University has brought back baseball at the Division I level and will take the field for the 2010 season. SU baseball coaches, along with professional area scouts, will be on hand to help run the camp. This camp will use instruction and game situations to enhance each ballplayer's ability to play the game of baseball.

The two-day camp will be held at Bannerwood Park: 1630 132nd Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA. 98007. The camp will be held Saturday, September 6th and Sunday, September 7th. Both days will start at 9 a.m. and end approximately at 3 p.m. The cost for the camp will be $75 for pitchers and $99 for position players and two-way players. Players will be responsible for bringing their own lunch on Saturday and drinks for both days. A half-hour break between the camp and the controlled games will take place on Saturday. Ice will be available for pitchers after they have thrown. T-shirts will be provided to wear. Players will also need to bring bats, gloves, spikes and hats. All players should be in baseball attire.

Position and two-way players will go through an instructional period Saturday morning before games start in the afternoon. Pitchers will be filmed in a controlled bullpen, prior to or after they have thrown live in the game. Film will be reviewed for instructional purposes with an SU staff member. No pitcher will throw more than three innings or 50 pitches, with some throwing less if instructed to us by your college coach. Sunday will have a pre-game warm-up and conclude with games.

If interested, please go to the athletics website at Seattle University (GoSeattleU.com) to sign up and register for the camp. Click on Camps, and you will find the appropriate paperwork. Payment for the camp can take place on the site as well. Any further questions on the camp can be answered by calling Cam Harrel at 425-273-1606. All players signing up will also need to fill out the attached questionnaire and e-mail it to harreld@seattleu.edu.
