Senior pitcher Erin Martin (, ) earned GNAC Co-Pitcher of the Year honors and, along with fellow senior Jane Purdy (, ), was a unanimous selection to the All-GNAC first team, as nine players were honored in voting by the conference coaches announced Monday afternoon by the conference office.
Martin finished the regular season with a school-record 24 victories against only four losses, including nine shutouts, and a 1.85 earned run average. Named first team All-GNAC for the third straight year, Martin holds the conference career records for wins with 88 and shutouts with 36.
Purdy also earned first team All-GNAC honors for the third time in her career, as she was a unanimous selection at second base after finishing the regular season with a .423 batting average, five home runs, and 33 runs batted in. Purdy is tied for the GNAC career home run record with 35 and also leads the team with 55 hits, a .608 slugging percentage, and a .479 on-base percentage.
Also named to the All-GNAC first team were two sophomores: outfielder Katie Antich (, ) and utility player Lauren Berin (Lacey, ). Antich goes into the postseason with a .367 batting average, earning 54 hits, including six doubles, during the year. She set a new school single season record with 26 stolen bases. Splitting time between designated player and first base, Berin is batting .381 with 12 doubles, four home runs, 41 runs batted in, and 19 walks. Honored in the voting for the third straight year, Megan MacIsaac () earned second team All-GNAC recognition after batting .338 with a school-record 13 doubles, 24 runs batted in, and a team-high 23 walks.
Four other players earned honorable mention recognition. Pitcher Kelsey Reynolds (, ) went 13-7 with seven shutouts this season, while catcher Jessica Amador () picked up six doubles and three home runs in 39 games played, plus did a solid job behind the plate in only her freshman season. Junior Jamie Foote (, ) batted .328 with nine doubles, two home runs, and 26 runs batted in, plus solidified the third base position defensively, and Brenda Stice () compiled a .283 batting average with five doubles, a triple, and a home run as she closes out her collegiate career.
(37-12), co-champions of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference, is the seventh seed in the West Regional of the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament and will face second seed Cal State Stanislaus Wednesday, May 7, at 11:30 a.m.
