Sophomore outfielder Katie Antich (, ) earned first team all-region honors from both the coaches and the sports information directors, while seniors Erin Martin (, ) and Jane Purdy () also earned recognition on both the NFCA and Daktronics All-West Region teams, announced earlier this week.

Antich was the only player to be named Daktronics first team all-region, voted on by the region’s sports information directors, as well as NFCA first team all-region, decided on by the coaches of the region. Antich came into this week’s NCAA West Regional with a .367 batting average, 54 hits, including six doubles and a triple, and a school-record 26 stolen bases.

Purdy earned first team all-region from the NFCA and second-team all-region from the sports information directors at second base after leading with a .423 batting average, 55 hits, and five home runs during the regular season. Purdy also earned first team Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA for the combination of her solid play on the field and a 3.46 grade point average while majoring in biology in the classroom.

Martin also earned NFCA first team all-region and Daktronics second team all-region honors after posting a 24-4 record during the regular season, setting the school single season record for victories. She struck out 103 batters while walking only 14 and also posted nine shutouts to become the GNAC career leader not only in victories (88), but also in shutouts (36).

Two other players earned second team all-region honors from the NFCA. Shortstop Megan MacIsaac () set a school single season record with 13 doubles and also led the team with 23 walks during the regular season. Utility player Lauren Berin (Lacey, ) finished the regular season with a .381 batting average, 12 doubles, four home runs, and a team-high 41 runs batted in.

(38-13) is in the middle of the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament West Regional, staying alive with a 4-2 victory over on Thursday. The Redhawks will face the loser of the Cal State Dominguez Hills-Cal State San Bernardino game Friday beginning at 11:30 a.m.
