Sophomore outfielder Katie Antich (, ) has been named the GNAC Co-Player of the Week after helping the softball team amass a 3-1 record over the past weekend, announced Monday by the conference office.

Antich had seven hits in 15 at bats over the weekend as split a doubleheader at Montana State Billings and swept in a home twinbill. In ’s 13-5 victory over MSU Billings, Antich went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored, one run batted in, a walk, and two stolen bases, setting the single season record for steals.

Sunday against , Antich hit 4-for-8 in the doubleheader with a double, three runs scored, a run batted in, and two more stolen bases. Her RBI single in the fifth inning of game one drove in the eighth run to end the game, and she scored ’s first run in the second game after leading off the fifth inning with a double.

Antich is the team’s second-leading hitter so far this season, batting .385 with a team-high 47 hits and 31 runs scored. She has started the last 33 games and has been in the leadoff spot in 29 of those games. She has already set the records for stolen bases in a single season with 23 and in a career with 37 thefts.

Antich becomes the fourth position player to earn the weekly honor and gives the Redhawks at least one of the conference’s weekly awards for the seventh time out of 11 weeks. She shares this week’s award with Stephanie Gosselin of Montana State Billings, who batted .579 with two home runs and seven RBI as the Yellowjackets went 4-2 over the weekend.
