After helping complete a doubleheader sweep of Western Washington, sophomore pitcher Kelsey Reynolds () has been named GNAC Co-Pitcher of the Week, the second time this season and third time in her career that she has earned the weekly honor.

In the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader against Western Washington, Reynolds allowed only six hits, a walk, and one run as Seattle University earned a 3-1 victory over the Vikings. Reynolds struck out four batters, including all three batters in the second inning, and retired the last seven batters in the game after pitching out of a bases-loaded jam in the fifth inning.

So far this season, Reynolds has posted a 9-4 record with a 2.19 earned run average. She has 11 complete games, including five shutouts, and has posted victories over regionally ranked teams Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State Dominguez Hills through the first 31 games of the year.

Reynolds was previously named Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 4 after earning MVP honors at the Best of the West Invitational with two shutouts. She shares this week’s pitching award with Katriina Reime of Central Washington, who allowed just four hits and one run in three relief appearances, including two against Humboldt State.

This is the fourth time that a SeattleU pitcher has earned weekly honors, with Erin Martin () picking up two Pitcher of the Week awards. A player has earned one of the weekly awards in six of the eight weeks that someone has been named, with Megan MacIsaac (, ), Jane Purdy (), and Lauren Berin (Lacey, Wash.) picking up Player of the Week honors this season.

(24-6-1, 6-2 GNAC) heads to Lacey, , for a conference doubleheader against ’s Friday, April 11, beginning at 2 p.m. The Redhawks then host in a three-game series, with a GNAC twinbill Saturday, April 12, and a non-conference game Sunday, April 13, both beginning at 12 noon at Logan Field.
