has self-reported a secondary violation to the NCAA involving the certification of a student-athlete on the men’s basketball team, which invokes the NCAA nullification process impacting the opportunity for ’s men’s basketball team to participate in next week’s NCAA West Regional.

Based on games earlier this week in the California Collegiate Athletic Association playoffs and in Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season play, it is unlikely that would have been ranked high enough in the region to be selected as one of the eight teams to participate in the tournament.

The student-athlete, senior Michael Knight, participated in ’s first 21 games this season before the school voluntarily withheld him from competition for the past five games.  successfully submitted an Administrative Review Subcommittee waiver which was approved by the NCAA Friday granting the eligibility of the student-athlete. To fulfill the conditions for reinstatement, he will not play in the season finale Saturday.

"Michael, who is not at fault at all in this situation, has handled it with poise and professionalism, and his display is a compliment to all that he represents," Associate Athletic Director Eric Guerra said.

Under NCAA guidelines, ’s 17-9 overall record and 10-7 conference record will remained unchanged. In addition, all team and individual statistics will stand.
