The Seattle University men’s and women’s cross country teams have earned All-Academic Team honors for having cumulative grade point averages above 3.0 for the fall 2007 quarter, announced recently by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Led by USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees Katie Hansen (, ) and Rachel Yorkston (), the women’s cross country team posted a 3.48 grade point average last fall, 32nd best among the 98 Division II teams that earned All-Academic honors. Meanwhile, the men’s team placed 31st among 66 All-Academic teams with a 3.23 grade point average.

was one of five GNAC men’s teams (Northwest Nazarene, Alaska Fairbanks, , ) to earn All-Academic team honors. Nine of the ten women’s cross country teams in the GNAC received the award by having a grade point average at or better than a 3.0.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet.  The team must also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative grade point average.
