The Seattle University men’s basketball team made two comebacks in the second half, but ninth-ranked Alaska Anchorage was able to withstand those rallies and win Saturday night, 73-60, in GNAC action at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

The Seawolves jumped out to a 15-4 lead, thanks in part to two three-pointers by Chris Bryant, and maintained that margin for the remainder of the first half and the first three minutes of the second half. Down 40-28, made its first run, outscoring Alaska Anchorage 13-1, with a jumper by Mike Boxley () tying the game at 41-41 with 14:09 remaining.

Alaska Anchorage (22-4, 13-1 GNAC) struck back with its own 12-1 run, as the combination of Bryant and Jeremiah Trueman gave the Seawolves a 53-42 lead with 8:48 left. A three-pointer by Ricky Berry (, ) and back-to-back layups by Ryan Coldren (, ) and Chris Gweth () brought SeattleU within four, but a 10-0 run by the Seawolves over the next three minutes sealed the game.

Coldren led SeattleU with 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field. Leigh Swanson (, ) scored nine points off the bench, while earned eight points, Boxley finished with seven points, and Gweth contributed five points and a team-high six rebounds.

Bryant led all players with 22 points and three steals, while Carl Arts earned 21 points and eight rebounds for Alaska Anchorage. Trueman played solidly off the bench, finishing with 12 points and six rebounds, and Luke Cooper once again ran a solid offense for the Seawolves, earning eight points and seven assists in the contest.

shot 47.1 percent (24-of-51) from the field, while Alaska Anchorage hit 45.5 percent (20-of-44) of its field goal attempts. The Seawolves enjoyed a significant advantage at the free throw line, hitting 25-of-31 attempts from the charity stripe while the Redhawks earned only 12 free throw attempts, making nine of them.

(16-8, 9-6 GNAC) will finish up the regular season with three home games, beginning next Thursday, Feb. 28, against Western Washington beginning at 7 p.m. at the Connolly Center. The Vikings defeated the Redhawks, 79-68, on Feb. 2 in .
