The Seattle University women’s basketball team stayed with nationally ranked Seattle Pacific through the first six minutes of the game, but a 16-2 run midway through the first half allowed the Falcons to take control of the game on their way to a 69-39 victory Thursday night in GNAC action at the Connolly Center.

It was a team effort for Seattle Pacific (23-0, 14-0 GNAC), as all ten active players played at least 14 minutes , scored a minimum of four points, and grabbed at least one rebound. Jackie Hollands led the way with 12 points, while Daesha Henderson made all five of her shots for ten points and Kelsey Hill contributed ten points and six rebounds.

struggled offensively, shooting only 28.6 percent from the field (16-of-56) and committing 21 turnovers. Kamrica Ary-Turner ( Way, ) scored seven points and blocked a game-high four shots, while Jackie Thomas (, ) had six points, six rebounds, and two assists, and Quinn Brewe (Edmonds, Wash.) added five points, six rebounds, and a blocked shot off the bench.

The Falcons shot 46.6 percent from the field, committed only 11 turnovers, and earned a slight rebounding advantage, 39-38. Seattle Pacific outscored 29-8 during the second half to break the game wide open, taking its biggest lead at 67-32 with 4:30 remaining in the game.

(14-8, 5-8 GNAC) will need to rebound from this loss, as Northwest Nazarene visits the this Saturday, Feb. 23, beginning at 7 p.m. The Crusaders, who defeated the Redhawks earlier this season, 73-62, lost to Montana State Billings Thursday night, 83-76.
