To maximize its final opportunity to qualify members of the team for the GNAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Seattle University track and field team will host the Moonlight Qualifying Meet this Thursday, Feb. 7, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Dempsey Indoor Track at the University of Washington.
Seattle Pacific University, Western Washington University, and possibly Saint Martin's University will join Seattle University in this meet, brought about because these GNAC schools wanted one more meet to try and add members to their squad for the conference meet, to take place Monday, Feb. 18, in Nampa, Idaho. Seattle University was originally scheduled to compete Friday in the Pilot Indoor Meet hosted by the University of Portland, but many of the events that SU athletes need to earn qualifying marks in are not available at that meet.
Admission is free for all fans to attend Thursday's meet. Results will be posted as soon as possible, either late Thursday night or first thing Friday morning.
