Continuing his solid play off the bench over the past two weeks by averaging 16.0 points per game at last weekend’s Oak Harbor Freight Lines Classic at , senior guard Michael Knight () was named to the All-Tournament Team.
In last Friday’s game against Alderson-Broaddus, Knight helped extend Seattle’s second-half lead several times, first on a three-point play with 9:28 remaining, then on a three-pointer with 4:41 left, and finally with a free throw to give SeattleU a five-point lead with 1:08 remaining in regulation. Knight finished with 14 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
The next day, Knight found his stroke, scoring 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line, and 3-of-4 shooting from the free throw line. He scored nine points in a 12-2 run midway through the first half, starting with back-to-back three-pointers, and then capping off the run with a dunk to give SeattleU a 31-14 advantage as the Redhawks cruised to the 93-70 victory over Concordia College of New York.
Over the last four games, Knight is averaging 17.3 points per game, shooting 23-of-40 from the field, including 14-of-26 from the three-point line. He is now tied for third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game. This is the second consecutive weekend that Knight has earned a spot on an all-tournament team, previously earning the honor at the DeBeni Classic at .
(7-2) begins conference play Saturday, Jan. 5, at Montana State Billings beginning at 7 p.m. local time. The team’s next game at the is Thursday, Jan. 10, against Seattle Pacific beginning at 7:30 p.m.
