After leading the women’s basketball team with 25 points and 15 rebounds in victories at BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific last week, junior forward Quinn Brewe () has been named GNAC Co-Player of the Week, announced Monday morning by the conference office.
Coming off a 19-point, nine-rebound effort at on Dec. 6, Brewe made her first start at Seattle University and responded with ten points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field and six rebounds in the team’s 100-42 victory over BYU Hawaii. It was Brewe’s three-point play two minutes into the game that gave SeattleU a lead it would not relinquish.
The next day against Hawaii Pacific, Brewe led with 15 points and nine rebounds, shooting 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-3 from the free throw line. She scored Seattle’s first four points of the game, and then started the Redhawks on a 25-8 run midway through the first half with another three-point play.
So far this season, Brewe is averaging 9.2 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds per game, shooting 58.6 percent from the field (34-of-58). She shares this week’s award with Hanna Hull of Central Washington, who was named the MVP of the Great Western Shootout in after scoring 32 points to lead the Wildcats to victories over nationally ranked UC San Diego and .

SeattleU will face Alaska Fairbanks Thursday, Jan. 3 and nationally ranked Alaska Anchorage Saturday, Jan. 5, with both games scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. local time (8 p.m. Pacific Time).
