Athletics takes part in several community events to celebrate the holiday season

The Seattle University Athletic Department prepared for the Holiday Season by participating in several community events. The Student-Athlete Advisory Council arranged a toy drive that benefited the Rotary Boys and Girls Club. The Athletics staff traveled to the Central Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity to prepare a community lunch for the homeless. Finally, the SU Men's Basketball team traveled to Bothell to wrap gifts from the Forgotten Children Foundation that services much of Western Washington.

The Student Athlete Advisory Committee is made up of two athletes from each SeattleU athletic team. They organized a toy drive that took donations from each team as well as the athletic staff. The donations were made to the Rotary Boys and Girls Club on 19th ave. where they would be distributed to children in need.

The athletics staff traveled to the Central Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity last Tuesday to prepare and serve a meal from the homeless as a part of the community lunch program. The staff prepped the meal, served it, and then did the clean-up and take down.

Monday, December 17, the Seattle Men's Basketball Team traveled to a warehouse in Bothell to wrap gifts for the Forgotten Children Foundation. The gifts will go to children in need throughout much of Western Washington and as far east as Chelan County.
