Chris Coley has been named the Student-Athlete of the Week

Seattle Men’s Swimming star Chris Coley has been named the Seattle University Student-Athlete of the Week. Coley is having another outstanding season in the pool while also excelling in the classroom where he has earned a 3.75 GPA while double-majoring in Philosophy and Psychology.

Chris has already qualified for the Division II National Championships this spring where he looks to add to an already impressive resume. He is a seven time All-American in his first three seasons at , including an individual National Championship in the 100 butterfly in 2006.

Chris achieved his national “A” Standard in the 100 butterfly at the Husky Invite on November 30, when he swam a time of 50.00 seconds. He then teamed with teammates Bryson Chiu, Doug Djang, and Bryant Bevers to achieve a second “A” standard in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.82. Coley also achieved a National “B” Standard in the 200 butterfly by swimming a time of 1:55.09, which qualifies him for nationals in that event as well.

Coley has been the most successful swimmer in history and looks to cap off his career with his best season so far. Coley and the Redhawks also have formed a formidable team this season and look to achieve their best result ever in their final season of Division II.
