For the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years, both the men’s and women’s soccer teams will be representing Seattle University in the NCAA Division II Soccer Tournaments, as selections for both tournaments were announced Monday afternoon by the NCAA national office.

With the expansion of the women’s tournament to 48 teams, two teams in each region will be hosting first- and second-round matches. As the second seed in the Far West region, the women will be hosting matches at Championship Field. On Friday, Nov. 9, third seed will face sixth seed Cal State Los Angeles in the first round beginning at 1 p.m. The winner of that match will face on Sunday, Nov. 11, also beginning at 1 p.m. at Championship Field.

Even though the men are also the second seed in their region, they will have to travel to , , for the region, as the men’s tournament remains at 32 teams. The Redhawks will face third seed on Friday, Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. at Toro Stadium, with top seed Cal State Dominguez Hills facing fourth seed Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. The winners of the Friday matches will meet in the regional final at Toro Stadium Sunday, Nov. 11, at 1 p.m.

The women finished the regular season 17-3, including 12-2 in the GNAC, second in the conference standings behind undefeated and untied Seattle Pacific, the other host in the region. Meanwhile, the men completed the regular season with a 15-2-1 record, including a 6-1-1 GNAC record, winning their sixth conference title in the past seven seasons. After being ranked first regionally in the NCAA regular season rankings, dropped behind Cal State Dominguez Hills, the winner of the CCAA Men’s Soccer Tournament, because the Toros finished with a better winning percentage and defeated the Redhawks earlier this season, 2-0 on Sept. 2.
