The Seattle University athletic department has entered into an agreement with Sandusky Radio to have this year’s men’s basketball games streamed live on the KKNW website, with selected games, as well as a weekly coaches show, to be broadcast on 1150 AM KKNW.
All games, starting with this Saturday’s exhibition game at , will be streamed through KKNW’s website (www.1150kknw.com), with a link also being present from the athletic website (www.GoSeattleU.com). Six games will also be broadcast over the air on 1150 AM KKNW: Nov. 23 vs. Cal State Monterey Bay, Dec. 8 vs. Douglas College, Dec. 15 vs. Seattle University Alumni, Dec. 22 at Humboldt State, Dec. 29 vs. Concordia (N.Y.), and March 8 vs. Montana State Billings.
Dick Fain and Gary Hill, Jr., will split the play-by-play broadcasting duties during the season. Fain is in his tenth year of broadcasting, presently serving as the sidekick for Softy on KJR 950 AM from 10-1 weekdays and hosting his own show every Saturday from 12-3. Hill is the host of “Sports Tangle” every Monday from 8-9 p.m. on KKNW and has worked on broadcasts for the Seattle Supersonics and the Seattle Storm during his career.
Starting next Monday, Nov. 5, there will be a one-hour talk show on KKNW featuring sports, with a focus on men’s basketball. The show, to air every Monday from 9-10 p.m., is expected to feature men’s basketball head coach Joe Callero and selected players, as well as other Seattle University coaches, administrators, faculty, and special guests. There will also be opportunities for fans to call in and talk to the on-air personalities during the show.
Dick Fain will be broadcasting live from Rupp Arena Saturday, Nov. 3, as Seattle University faces the University of Kentucky in a men’s basketball exhibition game beginning at 5 p.m. Pacific Time. The game will be streamed live on both the websites of KKNW and athletics. Fox Sports Northwest will show the game on a tape-delay basis Sunday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m., with Fox College Sports Pacific also showing the television broadcast later Sunday night at 11:30 p.m.
