Seattle University Men’s Basketball Wins Exhibition Opener
Five Redhawks score in double-digits in win
The Seattle University men’s basketball team won its exhibition opener, 103-81, over the Washington Athletic Club Saturday night at the . used a balanced attack, with 11 players playing double-digit minutes.
Senior transfer Michael Knight (, ) led with 19 points off the bench on 7-9 shooting, including 5-7 from 3-point range. Sophomore Ricky Berry () added 17 points on 6-8 shooting. Overall, shot 49.3 percent for the game and 55.6 percent in the second half.
Senior center Ryan Coldren (, ) scored 14 points for Seattle and junior point guard Shaun Burl () added 11 points and five assists.
saw several strong contributions from newcomers as junior transfer Michael Wright (, ) scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds while freshman Drew Harris () chipped in nine assists in just 15 minutes of action.
The Washington Athletic Club was led by Zak McVey with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Their team was made up of former college players from around the west coast.
