The Seattle University volleyball team split its first two matches of the 2007 season, losing to Humboldt State (30-25, 30-25, 31-29) in the morning before defeating Cal State Stanislaus (30-19, 30-28, 30-28) in the afternoon at the Seawolf Spike Volleyball Tournament hosted by Sonoma State.

In the victory over CSU Stanislaus, Nikole Thompson () led the way with 14 kills and 19 digs, plus earned two service aces. Freshman Jamie Mellies () stepped in as the setter, notching 33 assists, 13 digs, two service aces, and three total blocks. After struggling in the morning match, Haley Bury () came back to earn ten kills in the afternoon win.

Junior college transfer Heather Gerke () earned the starting libero position and responded with 43 digs in the two matches. Against Cal State Stanislaus, she led everyone with three service aces. Libby Graff (, ) was the Redhawks’ leading hitter in the morning match against , notching 13 kills, followed by a six-kill performance later in the day.
