SEATTLE - Seattle U softball (24-22, 9-12 WAC) embarks on its final trip of the regular season for a three-game series against UT Arlington (23-22, 9-12 WAC) at Allan Saxe Field. The pair are currently tied 6th in the conference, with the weekend's series result providing a key look in on WAC Tournament seeding.

SEATTLE - Seattle U softball (24-22, 9-12 WAC) embarks on its final trip of the regular season for a three-game series against UT Arlington (23-22, 9-12 WAC) at Allan Saxe Field. The pair are currently tied 6th in the conference, with the weekend's series result providing a key look in on WAC Tournament seeding.
 
The Redhawks are led behind sophomore Avari Morris, who holds a .440 batting average on the year. The dual-way player has 40 hits, 19 RBI and nine runs on the season in 91 at bats. From the circle, she has made 16 appearances and cataloged six wins, pitching for 72.2 innings and striking out 63 batters. 
 
Senior Tai Wilson leads the team and ranks second in the WAC in runs scored, coming in for the score 43 times this season for the Redhawks. Wilson holds a .314 batting average and has knocked out 48 hits, including three triples. From left field, Wilson has been a fixture for the Redhawk defense, accounting for 71 putouts.
 
Graduate Jasmine Wehn paces the team with 49 hits, a new career season high. She posts a .314 batting average while recording 35 RBI and a team leading 13 doubles. Wehn is a cornerstone to the Redhawk defense, collecting 283 putouts this season. Junior Taylor Fitch leads the Redhawks with 44 RBI and 11 home runs. She possesses a .307 batting average, accounting for 46 hits and 30 runs on the year. 
 
Leading from the circle is senior Nicola Simpson. After 95.1 innings pitched, the Seattle native holds a 1.99 ERA and has struck out a team leading 81 batters en route to eight wins. Simpson has held her opponents to a .233 batting average. 
 
Close behind and also logging eight wins from the circle is sophomore Berkley Vance. Vance has lowered her ERA to a 2.42 after holding her opponents to a .239 batting average across 95.0 innings pitched. She has struck out 65 batters in a team leading 21 appearances. 
 
Aiding the Redhawk defense is sophomore Mikee Morris. The shortstop has a team leading 82 assists and has accounted for 56 putouts. On the offensive end, Mikee is one of seven Redhawks with over 40 hits this season, collecting 44 of her own. 
 
Together the Redhawks have a combined .296 batting average, accumulating 378 hits, 234 runs and 217 RBI after 46 contests. Defensively, they hold a collective 3.25 ERA which ranks 68th in the country. SU holds its opponents to a collective .257 batting average across 307.2 total innings pitched. The Redhawks have struck out a combined 232 batters.
 
UT Arlington unites for a collective .265 batting average on the season, accruing 309 hits, 193 RBI and 232 runs after 45 games. On the defensive side, the Mavericks hold a combined 4.89 ERA through 294.2 total innings pitched. They have struck out 133 batters while limiting their opponents to a .324 batting average.
 
The Redhawks trail the all-time series against the Mavericks 3-4 dating back to 2013 after narrowly falling to UTA in the WAC Tournament last year. SU secured the series win in 2024 after taking the opening game of the doubleheader and the series finale in Arlington. It was their second ever series against the Mavericks and first since 2013. The pair have yet to play a full three-games in Seattle.
 
Following the weekend, the Redhawks await their draw in the 2025 WAC Tournament. The event is slated to begin on Wednesday, May 7 with a champion crowned on Saturday, May 10 in Riverside, California.
